One of the best parts about the Rose Bowl is not only the Parade but the helmets that often have some kind of rose design on the team logo. I decided to that a bit further down the rabbit hole with a set of Rose Bowl themed helmets for several teams.
Michigan I think is one of the most iconic helmets in football. Bama and Penn State like to be all we are classic blah blah blah. No, correction you are blank. Yes, the look is classic and has tradition but is because you have been blank for so long that it became something. Michigan on the other hand has a design on its helmet that everyone in world knows. I still thought I could improve on the design because I’m an evil genius that has no boundaries or so the message boards tell me. Don’t worry I did’t change the helmet all that much.
My first thought was to do the the classic yellow wings on a base of red roses but then the light in my head went on and I realized that navy blue or yellow roses would be way cooler. So, I played around with that idea and this is what I came up with. The only problem is that Adidas refuses to listen to me so this will never happen.
I also did some regular season helmets

Michigan is one of those teams that you get beat up for even saying they need to do something new with their helmets. I agree that the Michigan helmet is a timeless classic. I would hate to see them go to a block M or a wolverine or something else on the side of the helmet, but what if we played with the current classic look? Hold on don’t send the hate mail just yet. I think that if the team were to ever change things up a bit I think one or two of these concepts would be just the ticket. Try and keep an open mind before yelling kill the monster like how a Bama or Penn State fan would react, you are better than that now, Go get a cocktail drink it all, pour another one and suck on the ice while you scroll down.
These helmets here have a navy blue carbon fiber base with a two tone yellow decal. I think this still honors the classic but gives it that modern edge the players would love to wear.Â
This one is classic as classic get but with navy blue carbon fiber.
This one just adds an outline to the classic helmet. Nothing too shocking but I still like it.
I like the idea of a yellow or white helmet. I think that if the team was ever going to go away from a navy blue base that this is where they would go first.Â
It is hard to tell but these helmets feature a navy blue outline around the classic yellow.Â
The Yellow on Yellow with the navy outline is one of my favs
The white helmet with an all white uniform could be a great look. I am not sure if I like this version of the blue with yellow outline better.Â
